Cherish Life Ministries is a non-profit ministry of men and women volunteers to encourage and enable Christian churches to pray for life ministries, counsel men and women regarding life issues and participate in local efforts pertaining to education of life issues.
Cherish Life Ministries is a call to the Church to stand for the defenseless at every stage of life, from womb to tomb. Life has been devalued to the point that it has become just another political topic. But life is more than a political issue or cause. The word of God tells us that life is of inestimable value and the way we treat it, a foundational moral and spiritual principle of humanity.
Two decades ago, many Catholic and Protestant churches were involved in many aspects of the pro-life movement. In the last several years, however, most protestant churches have curtailed their pro-life activities, limiting them to providing financial support to a crisis pregnancy center. While commendable, this has done little to reduce the number of abortions performed annually in the United States.
Statistics suggest that the rate of abortion among women in the Church is as high as the rate for women outside the Church. Why is this happening and what can the Church do about it? Cherish Life Ministries helps Churches address this and related questions. We are a coalition of Churches that supports mothers struggling with unexpected pregnancies, promotes abstinence until marriage and gives a voice to the preborn who might otherwise be killed by abortion. Our goal is to assist churches, organize and support a life ministry in defense of life and help function as an outreach to people struggling with unwanted pregnancies in the local community. Educational materials are available on our website. We are available to help you start a Cherish Life Ministries chapter in your church. We will work with you as you pursue this much-needed ministry.
